MORE UPDATES WILL

BE POSTED.

The MAPS 3 election is now over and the public has made the decision to continue the MAPS 3 projects.  During the election process the leadership of the Yes For Maps coalition Mayor Mick Cornett promised that if MAPS 3 passed, more police and fireman would be hired.  Now it is up to the public to insure that this promise is kept.

Please contact Mayor Mick Cornett by phone at 405-297-2424 or by email at mayor@okc.gov and let him know that you will be waiting to hear the

announcement that more emergency workers are being added.  You can also contact your city council representative and tell him/her that you will be keeping  a close watch on the council’s actions to make sure this promise is kept. You can find the phone numbers and email addresses for the Oklahoma City Council members at http://www.okc.gov/council/index.html.

** Yes For MAPS 3 Campaign Misses The Mark **

I don’t remember anything being said during the Yes For MAPS 3 campaign about emergency responders having to take a pay or benefit cut so that additional officers or firefighters could be added to the street. But it seems that this is what the City is now asking for. Is this typical Oklahoma politics at work?  Please call Mayor Cornett and the City Council and let them know your thoughts. The contact information for them is provided above.

Here is the link to what the City is proposing:
